Just checked out your web site ... all I can say is WOW very impressive. Just love the tone Gary gets out of that Organ...you guys are all talented and more importantly have a good work ethic towards your band and the music. Being well prepared and well practiced is probably the most important aspect of a smooth delivery. You guys are like a well oiled machine and the rest of us are gonna have to grease our gears to catch up!
Keep up the good work and keep inspiring us.

Hi Dr. Buck, Thank you for offering me a free CD. This comes as quite a thrill for me.I first heard about your band one Saturday morning about a month ago on CILU radio.Your song "You Upset Me Baby". It was so remarkable that it excited me. I became an instant fan. I couldn't believe that you were a local band as I had never heard such fantastic local music before.
Looking forward to hearing your CD...p.s. I was born in Finland and immigrated to Thunder Bay at age 5. It was my boyfriend Michael, a drummer in several local blues bands such as
Bluestreak and Waterboys, who introduced me to the blues. I have had a richer life for it.
A big hug to you Ray and have a wonderful Christmas!

*Note: the version of "You Upset Me Baby" that we perform was inspired by Joe Bonamassa.
Here are some welcome and encouraging words by our new fans from Kenora, Ontario, Canada received by us on July 11th, 2007:
Subject: Blues Fest Banger Blathering about Buck and his Buddies
Let me start by saying that my wife and I were in Thunder Bay for the
week and decided (on a whim) to end our stay with the Blues Festival.
Kudos to the organizers for the quality acts they brought in and for
showcasing local talent. Doctor Buck and the Bluesbangers are no exception. They opened the
show bright and early Sunday morning (well...noon) of the third day.
This was after playing a local pub late Saturday night (well...early
Sunday morning). From the beginning of their set to the end they
delivered a tight clean sound that rivalled that of the
"professionals" later in the day. And, riding on that tight clean
sound is the individual expression and emotion that makes it the
blues.
I keep saying "they" because these guys play really well together.
This band is a good example of the whole being greater than the sum of
the parts. I'm not a musician but they seem to have the basics down
right back to kindergarten.
ie: 1) Play nicely together,
2) Always hold hands before crossing the street...??? and,
3) They love to share... their music.
Their fans love it too. At the end of their set, from a bleary-eyed
Sunday morning crowd, they received a standing ovation from everyone.
So keep on banging guys. You never know who might answer. See you next
year!

Another entry from a local fan:
I recall Ray ("Dr. Buck") once mentioning to us that many fans had come up to him in the past to tell him that they honestly never cared for the "blues" until they heard Dr. Buck and the Bluesbangers play them.
They affectionately referred to this condition as having been "Bluesbanged"!
I must confess that my Husband was the Blues fan in our home and he has had a passion for the Blues for as long as I've known him. I myself never really cared for the Blues genre, I always found it too slow and depressing for my taste. Ray and my Husband have shared a close friendship for over forty years so when my Husband suggested we go and check out their band one night, at their invitation, I must say I was skeptical. My skepticism soon turned to gratitude. Watching this band perform was then and continues to be truly magical. Their cohesiveness is obvious to everyone that sees and hears them. They solidly perform as one and genuinely enjoy what they are doing every moment they are doing it. Their enthusiasm is infectious and soon you go from rocking in your seat to rocking on the dance floor. (Something I haven't done in years!). You just know that their very heart and soul go into every song they perform. They are better every time I hear them and they have inspired within me a new respect and deep appreciation for the Blues genre.
Our decision on whether or not to do this website for Dr. Buck and the Bluesbangers was a no brainer. We sincerely believe in them and anything that could help spread the news of their incredible talent to the multitudes would be all good. If you could have a crowd of forty people and at least thirty eight of them are on the dance floor at any given time, then you really got it goin' on in my opinion.
Sadly, everyone knows that life will always bring change sooner or later. That is what fuels my desire now to take every opportunity I get to hear them whenever I can. I encourage you to do the same. Check out the Upcoming Gigs page to catch their next perfomance...I promise you, you will be VERY glad that you did! Whether you actually like the Blues or not, don't miss your opportunity to familiarize yourself with Dr. Buck and the Bluesbangers while you can. I have definitely been BLUESBANGED and you will be too!
